IM DISABLED, NEED MONEY FOR RENT AND TELEPHONE AND ESPECIALLY FOOD. THERE ARE NO FOOD BANKS IN MY AREA. ONLY HAVE SOUP AND PEANUT BUTTER. MY SON IS OUT OF WORK AND HIS UNEMPLOYMENT HAS BEEN TURNED DOWN. FRHELPANCHISE TAX BOARD WANTS $187 OR THEIR GOING TO GARNISH MY DISABILITY CHECK. DONT HAVE A CAR AND DESPERATELY NEED MONEY FOR FOOD. PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP? THERE ARE NO AGENCIES IN CALIFORNIA FOR HELP FOR THE DISABLED WITH ALLTHE CUTS THAT HAVE BEEN MADE. WENT TO WELFARE AND WAS TURNED DOWN FOR FOOD STAMPS. PLEASE I NEED HELP. I am in need of a social security disability advocate attorney in the Glendale, CA area as ssa is about to suspend my iclaim due to an overpayment from 2006. I had just had my claim approved that year but thought I was within the 9 month trial period to try to see if I could work. I tried to work but then became very ill and had to quit. Then I received a letter stating I owed them $26,000! I filed an appeal on my own but in the meantime they were still going to withhold my benefits. I could not find an attorney who would even talk to me about an overpayment problem so I negotiated with ssa for them to take $200 from my check as good faith payments to pay them back. This went on for 2 years or so. Then they started threatening me again and they started taking $358 from my check. To try and make a long story short, I filed a Request for Hardship Waiver and Request for Reconsideration. My 6 mos. of provisionsal benefits ends in December. This is my only source of income. I don't know what I'll do, how I will live without an income. I have chronic debilitating conditions and now have to have knee surgery because it''s difficult to walk. In addition to that, I was also trying to be the caregiver to my terminally ill mother who we lost just 2 weeks ago. So right now I am literally beside myself and don't know what to do next. I was told no attorney would talk to me untii I they actually suspended my claim. I am looking for an attorney who will at least advise me on what steps I can take if any to continuing to get some kind of benefits or payment plan or something. Thank you so much as the stress of losing my mom and fighting with the government and worrying about being homeless and starving is making me sicker.
